Have you ever been plagued with fear by simply just opening your mouth? Have you been a situation where you needed to say something BUT… You know it and they will know it… BAD BREATH! The truth is, you are not alone with the disease of bad breath… Halitosis. In fact, Halitosis or bad breath affects over 50-80 millions Americans. In other words, almost one out of every four people are embarrassed from the smell of their bad breath. And chewing one more stick of gum does not change the fact that you have experienced some or all of the following situations.

Halitosis sufferers experience the following:

People avoid direct contact with you because of your bad breath.

A persistent taste that will not leave your mouth.

People offering you gum or mints on a regular basis.

A yellow or white film on your tongue often related to bad breath.

Being perceived with lack of confidence affecting professional and personal skills because of bad breath. And much more…

If you suffer from halitosis, you might be able to add to this debilitating list. Fortunately, thousands of people are actively treating halitosis daily. In fact, thousands of people are finding victory over bad breath and finally living a normal life again.

My name is Joe Barton and I am the owner and founder of Barton Publishing, a leading health company specializing in publishing cutting edge reports that show people how to cure and treat themselves using safe, natural, proven and guaranteed home remedies. Many of our customers have asked for ways to treat halitosis so here it is…

The Dos and Don’ts to Destroy Bad Breath

The Dos

1.	Visit your Doctor and Dentist for your Bad Breath. What? In very few cases, it could be diagnosed as a tissue problem. Please visit my site for questions.

2.	Have your teeth professionally cleaned twice a year.

3.	Floss! Use a fluoride floss and floss daily to rid your self of halitosis causing food and bacteria between your teeth.

4.	Drink Water! A Dry Mouth is a Bad Breath Mouth! Drink 10 glasses of water a day. This has numerous benefits.

5.	Chew parsley, mint, cloves, or fennel seeds for a natural scent for bad breath.

6.	Rinse mouth with water immediately after eating foods with dairy or high in protein.

7.	An Apple a Day keeps Bad Breath Away! Eat vegetables and fruits (high in water) as much as possible!

The Don’ts

1.	Don’t ignore your bad breath. Information is the key to your success… stay informed!

2.	Don’t drink too much coffee. It will make your breath worse.

3.	Don’t forget to clean behind your molars in the back of each row. Bacteria and food (often the cause of bad breath) love these hiding places.

4.	Don’t clean your tongue with toothpaste. Dip your toothbrush in mouthwash and softly massage back of tongue.

5.	Don’t drink too much alcohol. Alcohol will cause dry mouth often causing bad breath.

6.	Cotton mouth? See if your prescription drugs cause dry mouth or cotton mouth. This will cause halitosis.

7.	Don’t forget fluoride. Many toothpastes, mouthwashes, and even flosses contain ‘bad breath fighting’ fluoride.

Now the rest of the story! Here are 14 tips to get your life back to normal and say ‘good-bye’ to halitosis. Remember that educating yourself on halitosis will be the main tool to ridding yourself of bad breath. Imagine no more bad breath, no more awkwardness, no more worrying! Please don’t wait another day counting the hours until your next ‘bad breath situation’… A guaranteed solution is just clicks away. Check out our site today!

Good dental hygiene can have many positive effects in your daily life. It not only strengthens your teeth and gums, but it can have positive effects on your overall health and wellbeing as well. Conversely, bad dental hygiene can have detrimental effects on your health. Specifically, good oral hygiene can prevent cavities (dental caries), gingivitis, periodontitis, and bad breath (halitosis).

Cavities are also described as tooth decay. This is the most common disease throughout the world an is an infectious disease that damages the structures of teeth. Cavities can lead to pain, tooth loss, infection, and in some cases, even death.

Cavities are caused by bacteria that produce acid which in turn eats away at the enamel of the teeth. Specifically, the acidity that is produced in the mouth lowers the pH balance to the point at which demineralization occurs faster than mineralization. The result is tooth decay. Tooth decay is irreversible. Once a tooth is decayed, it cannot be restored except through dental procedures. The best preventative measure is good dental hygiene.

Gingivitis is the inflammation of the gums around the teeth. It is often the result of plaque and tartar buildup due to improper cleaning of the teeth or by injury to the gums from vigorous brushing or flossing. When bacterial plaque accumulates in the spaces between the gums and the teeth, the bacteria produce chemicals and toxins that cause inflammation of the gums around the teeth.

Symptoms of gingivitis can include swollen gums, mouth sores, bright red or purple gums, shiny gums, bleeding gums (even with gentle brushing), itchy gums, and receding gumlines. Gingivitis is usually reversible, but the best way to prevent it is to brush your teeth gently and thoroughly on a daily basis and to keep your teeth flossed.

Periodontitis or Pyorrhea is the result of untreated gingivitis. If gingivitis inflammation is left unattended for years, it can cause deep pockets between the teeth and gums and result in loss of bone around the teeth. Since the bone in the jaws holds the teeth into the jaws, the loss of bone can cause teeth to become loose and eventually fall out or need to be extracted due to acute infection.

Symptoms may include:
•	occasional redness or bleeding of gums while brushing teeth, using dental floss or biting into hard food like apples
•	occasional gum swellings that recur
•	bad breath or halitosis
•	persistent bad taste in the mouth
•	recession of gums resulting in apparent lengthening of teeth. (However, note that this may also be caused by heavy handed brushing or using a hard bristled tooth brush.)
•	pockets between the teeth and the gums (Pockets are sites where the jaw bone has been destroyed gradually by repeated swellings).
•	loose, shaky teeth in later stages
•	inflammation of the tonsils and/or throat due to fragments of bone embedded in the tissue

Periodontitis is not reversible but can be controlled with regular cleanings below the gum line. This is best accomplished professionally by a dental hygienist or dentist. This cleaning will disrupt and remove plaque to help prevent further inflammation. Although plaque will continue to grow even after cleanings, it takes approximately 3 months for the pathogenic type of bacteria to grow back into the deep pockets and restart the inflammatory process. Again, the best way to prevent periodontis is to engage yourself in good oral hygiene to begin with.

Halitosis, also known as oral malodor, breath odor, or most commonly bad breath are terms used to describe unpleasant odors exhaled in breathing. Transient bad breath and chronic bad breath are the two most common conditions that affect people. Transient bad breath is a temporary condition caused by things such as stress, hunger, food, smoking or bad oral hygiene. What is known as “morning breath” is an example of transient bad breath. This condition can be easily remedied by brushing or chewing gum.

Chronic bad breath, however, is a more serious and persistent condition. It is usually caused by persistent overpopulation of certain types of oral bacteria and requires specialized treatment.

The previous conditions are all problems that you might face if you engage in poor oral hygiene. Taking care of your teeth and gums can go a long way in helping you be a healthier person.

Did you know that one and four people suffer from the disease of bad breath… Halitosis?

That is almost 80 million Americans with bad breath! Fortunately, thousands of those sufferers are seeking medical help and naturally treating their bad breath by simply correctly brushing, flossing and cleaning their tongue.

What? I know what you might be thinking. Who doesn’t know how to brush their teeth? Unfortunately, millions of people continue to brush, floss and clean with the bad habits passed down from previous generations. As oral hygiene has advanced in recent decades, so has what we know on how to keep your teeth clean and how to keep halitosis in the history books!

Did you know that bad breath comes from bacteria growing in your mouth?

In the most common forms of bad breath, the odor comes from activity of bacteria in the mouth (85%-90%), usually from the back part of the tongue. Simply stated, microorganisms in the mouth break down proteins and produce foul smelling gasses called volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs). These VSCs emit a smell similar to rotten eggs. Because bacteria need an environment free of oxygen, they will live in areas that are difficult to reach such as pockets around the teeth, the grooves in the tongue, and ESPECIALLY on the back of the tongue. The most common cause of bad breath is bacteria on the back part of the tongue. This bacterium lives deep in the tiny grooves of the tongue and digests proteins while producing gasses.

Did you know you can begin treating bad breath today by CORRECTLY brushing, flossing and cleaning your tongue?

The Basics for fighting Halitosis

Brushing and Flossing are the two most crucial elements for defeating bad breath. Since bacteria lives on our teeth and gums, brushing and flossing will remove the bacteria and will decrease production of VSCs which causes halitosis. However, most people do not spend the 2-3 minutes it takes to properly brush all tooth surfaces. In fact, the average person spends less than 1 minute brushing their teeth and spends even less time flossing. NOT flossing your teeth is the equivalent of not washing a third of your body in the shower causing you to have body odor. Flossing is very beneficial and should be practiced daily. Cleaning your tongue is also extremely important. Because many of the odor causing bacteria live in the deep crevices on the tongue, they lay protected from oxygen under mucous, proteins, and food particles. The back of the tongue should be cleaned with a tongue cleaner on a regular basis.

Brushing Tips

1. Place the toothbrush bristles against the gums at a 45-degree angle.

2. Move the brush back and forth gently in short (one tooth wide) strokes. All surfaces of the teeth need to be cleaned: the inner areas (by the tongue), the outside areas (by the cheeks and lips), and the grooved biting surfaces.

3. Turn the brush to use the whole length of it to clean the insides of the upper and lower front teeth.

4. Brush teeth for 2-3 minutes.

Flossing Tips

1. Break off about 15 inches of strong floss and wind most of it around one of your middle fingers. Alternatively, you can tie the two ends of the floss together to form a circle.

2. Wind some of the floss around a finger of the other hand.

3. Hold the floss taunt between your thumbs and forefingers. Guide the floss between your teeth using a gentle back and forth motion. Do not snap the floss between the teeth.

4. After the floss is through the tight area between the two teeth, curve it into a C shape against one tooth. Gently slide it up and down the tooth and under the gum line.

5. Do the same thing for the side of the other tooth.

6. Advance the floss so you use a clean area between each tooth.

7. Remember to floss behind the molars.

Tongue Cleaning Tips

1. Gently brush the tongue with a regular toothbrush dipped in an antibacterial mouthwash.

2. Reach back as far as you can without hurting yourself. At first, you may gag, but practice will decrease this natural urge.

3. Rinse the toothbrush well and repeat a few times until the white coating on the surface of the tongue is removed.

4. Be gentle so the delicate tissues are not damaged.

5. Special tongue cleaning devices may be used. Gently scrape the surface of the tongue according to the manufacturer’s directions.

You Are On Your Way!

Congratulations! You have just begun the journey to cure bad breath. Follow these tips daily and you will begin to notice a difference in the first few weeks. However, there are also hundreds of other guidelines you can follow to cure halitosis naturally at home.

Bad breath is a terrible flaw in anyone’s personality. If you have the perfect face, hair, and body, but have bad breath- you are just good to watch. No matter how perfectly good looking you are, if you have “dragon breath”, your total physical package will become useless. And what’s worse, this problem can lead to low self confidence and self esteem, which can affect your social life and your relationship to other people.

Bad breath is a common problem to adults. Almost everybody has experienced having bad breath at some points in their lives. There are a number of causes of bad breath, but the most common of all are the odor-causing bacterial that live in our mouth. Alcoholic beverages, raw onions and garlic, dental and gum diseases, and poor oral and dental hygiene play a big role in contributing odor in your mouth.

To be able to maintain fresh-smelling breath, you have to first and foremost practice proper oral and dental hygiene. Brushing your teeth and tongue in the morning, evening and every after meal can lessen the chance of plaque build up in your teeth, which can cause bad breath. Flossing is also a brilliant way in keeping your teeth and gums healthy. There are also several home remedies for bad breath, like gargling lukewarm water with salt, baking soda, or juice of half a lemon before bedtime can help bad breath.

When it comes to herbal remedies for bad breath, chewing anise, parsley, mint, or cloves can promote saliva production. Using tea tree oil for bad breath can help relieve the problem. Tea tree oil is derived form the tea tree leaves. Tea tree oil for bad breath remedy is very useful because it contains antiseptic compounds that make it a strong disinfectant. Use toothpaste with tea tree oil or add a few drops of tea tree oil on your toothbrush alone or on your toothpaste. It has a strong aromatic flavor which can keep your mouth fresh-smelling. You may want to use mouthwash with tea tree oil for bad breath to help cure gum disease that might be one of the causes of your breath problem. Some even soak their dental floss to tea tree oil and find it effective.

Tea tree oil is very helpful in the issue of bad breath. If you are one of those who suffer from bad breath, don’t wait until you are avoided by friends or other people that you may encounter for that is very painful. It’s going to feel like you are stabbed on your chest. Use tea tree oil for bad breath cure. A few drops on your toothpaste or toothbrush is all it takes.

In any event, here are 10 things to Fight Bad Breath Now!

1.	Use mouthwash after every meal. This works to loosen food particles inside your mouth that can decay and cause stinky breath.
2.	Brush teeth after every meal. Your mother was right and you should brush your teeth after every meal if all possible.
3.	When outside the home, after eating, chew a piece of sugarless gum. Gum, like the mouthwash will help to remove stock food from between your teeth.
4.	Clean your tongue regularly with a clean cold, wet Terry washcloth. This helps remove the bacteria buildup that can cause bad breath.
5.	Wipe the inside of your mouth, gums and cheeks. Literally any soft tissue in your mouth can be cleaned with a cold washcloth and be made to feel much fresher.
6.	Watch what you eat. Many times strong foods like onions and garlic take time to be processed through your system. They can remain on your breath for hours after eating. He cannot arrange or basis and you may find that your skin will also have a faint odor.
7.	Floss your teeth. If there’s one thing that you can do to keep your breath smelling as fresh as possible, it’s flossing your teeth. Flossing removes plaque and bacteria buildup from tooth surfaces.
8.	Make an appointment to visit your dentist. Dental cavities and gingivitis are two of the leading causes of halitosis or bad breath. The sooner these problems are corrected the easier it will be to maintain a healthy mouth and fresh breath.
9.	Stay away from strong drinks such as coffee or use some of the tips above to eliminate that stale coffee odor.
10.	Don’t smoke. Smoking can permeate not only your breath, but everything in totally and everything you wear. Stale smokers breath is just disgusting and no amount of gum or mints can mask the odor

Your breath should naturally have a neutral smell. It should not deliver any messages about what you had for lunch or the state of your health. Healthy breath should not be unpleasant to people you come in contact with, or smell like peppermints or cinnamon. By taking good care of your teeth and gums, you should be able to get up close and personal with almost anyone without the worry of offending

Halitosis is also known as bad breath. It is an extremely embarrassing problem for many people to deal with. Halitosis is the result of the action taken by bacteria that live in your mouth, tongue, and tonsils. We all have these bacteria, which make us possible to have bad breath. But, did you know that there are stomach bacteria that cause bad breath? If you think that bad breath is caused only by the bacteria living in your mouth, think again.

It was once suggested that one of the causes of bad breath is Helicobacter Pylori, the organism that causes stomach ulcers and ulcers in the duodenum. There was a laboratory test done that detects the substance in a breath if there’s a presence of this organism, but there was no firm proof that Helicobacter pylori is responsible for the unpleasant smell on the breath. Usually, stomach breath doesn’t exist. Unless you belch, but the odor that comes out from belching is associated with the food you have eaten.

Bad breath from the stomach is actually not a big of a deal. It is so, because only few bacteria can survive in our stomach due to the very acidic condition down in there. The only smell that you can detect from the stomach breath (when you belch) is the odor of foods like onions, garlic, or any other food with strong odor, instead of coming from the stomach bacteria that cause bad breath. However, this unpleasant smell is only temporary and will disappear in a day or so.

On rare occasion, a condition other than stomach bacteria that cause bad breath seems to come from lower down in our body. There are some illnesses like cancers that can cause our breath to have an odd smell. Liver or kidney disease can cause unpleasant stomach breath. It is true then that bad breath could be a sign of other serious problem.

If you notice an unpleasant and persistent smell from your breath that is not associated with the food or medications that you have taken, you should consult your doctor for a professional opinion. Do not try to ignore it or treat it by using bad breath products. For all you know it could be a serious health problem. And, if your concerns are still about stomach bacteria that cause bad breath, or if you think that you have other health problems, these should be discussed with your doctor, as well. Should your bad breath condition is indeed from your stomach, appropriate treatment must be taken.

Bad Breath or Halitosis is the term used to describe unpleasant smell exhaled in breathing. There are different types of Halitosis. Transient bad breath is very common and is caused due to oral dryness, stress, hunger, eating foods containing garlic and onions, smoking and poor oral hygiene. Morning breath and chronic bad breath are the other types. The latter affects 25% of the population at different levels. This condition is caused by the overpopulation of certain types of oral bacteria like streptococcus mutans, and requires special treatment. Fetor hepaticus is a type of bad breath caused by chronic liver failure.

There are different factors that affect the mouth and cause bad breath. Dental decay, gum disease, food stagnation between the teeth, dry mouth, excessive bacterial activity on the tongue, throat or tonsil infection and catarrh are some of them. The factors that affect the airways and cause bad breath are sinusitis, polyps, dryness, foreign body, mucus flow, bronchitis, pneumonia and bronchiectasis. Food stagnation, gastric and blood influx cause bad breath. Bad breath can also be a sign of a significant general health problem.

Over 400 types of bacteria are found in the average mouth. Huge quantities of these naturally-occurring bacteria are often found on the posterior of the tongue, where they are undisturbed by normal activity. The surface of the tongue dorsum being rough provides an ideal habitat for anaerobic bacteria, which flourish under a continually-forming tongue coating of food debris, dead cells, and thousands of bacteria, both living and dead. The anaerobic respiration of such bacteria can yield either the putrescent smell of polyamines, or the “rotten egg” smell of volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs). When these compounds mix with mouth air, they produce unpleasant breath.

You can prevent bad breath by maintaining a high level of oral and dental hygiene. It requires cleaning of tongue right to the back, using a mouthwash recommended by the dentist, drinking plenty of fluids and avoiding too much of coffee. Sugar-free gum and fresh and fibrous vegetables are taken to prevent bad breath. Tobacco products should be avoided. Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste to remove food debris. Mouthwashes and mints give temporary release since they mask the smell for a few minutes. Rinses containing chloehexidine, zinc gluconate or chlorine dioxide should be used. Alcohol, being a drying agent, should be avoided.

Maintaining a proper water level in the body by drinking several glasses of water a day is important to prevent your mouth from being dry. Adding lemon juice to the water before drinking is considered beneficial. Eating yogurt, drinking green tea or chewing cinnamon or sugarless cinnamon gum can reduce bad breath.
